Our refund policy for competition entry fees and school registration fees. We strive to be fair and transparent.

Applicable to all payments made on or after this date.

1. Overview

This Refund Policy applies to all payments made on the Talented platform (operated by ConsortX), including competition entry fees and school registration fees. All payments are processed in Indian Rupees (โ‚น) through Razorpay.

We understand that circumstances change, and we aim to handle all refund requests fairly and promptly. Please read this policy carefully to understand your rights and the conditions under which refunds are granted.

2. Refund Eligibility

You are eligible for a full refund of your competition entry fee if:

  • Before Competition Starts: You request a refund at least 48 hours before the competition's scheduled start time. No questions asked.
  • Technical Failure: You were unable to participate due to a verified technical issue on our end (server downtime, quiz engine failure, etc.) that prevented you from completing the competition.
  • Duplicate Payment: You were charged multiple times for the same competition registration due to a payment processing error.
  • Eligibility Error: You were incorrectly allowed to register for a competition for which you were not eligible (e.g., wrong class/age group), and the error was on our part.

You may be eligible for a partial refund (at our discretion) if:

  • You request a refund less than 48 hours before the competition start time but before the competition has actually begun.
  • You experienced connectivity issues on your end that can be verified through our system logs, and you were unable to complete a significant portion of the quiz.

3. Non-Refundable Items

The following are strictly non-refundable:

  • Completed Competitions: Entry fees for competitions you have already participated in or attempted, regardless of your score or result.
  • Missed Competitions: If you failed to participate within the competition window without requesting a refund beforehand, the fee is non-refundable.
  • Disqualified Entries: If you were disqualified from a competition for violating rules (cheating, plagiarism, impersonation, etc.), you are not eligible for a refund.
  • Free Competitions: Competitions with no entry fee do not involve any payment and therefore have no refund applicable.
  • Payment Gateway Charges: Any convenience fees or processing charges applied by the payment gateway (Razorpay) are non-refundable.

4. Refund Process

To request a refund, follow these steps:

Submit a Refund Request

Send an email to support@talented.in with the subject line "Refund Request". Include your registered name, email, competition name, payment transaction ID, and reason for the refund.

Review & Verification

Our team will review your request within 3 business days. We may contact you for additional information or verification. We will check our system logs to verify the claim.

Decision & Communication

You will be notified via email whether your refund request has been approved, partially approved, or declined, along with the reason.

Refund Processing

Approved refunds are processed through Razorpay and credited to your original payment method. The refund amount will reflect in your account as per the timeline below.

Once a refund is approved, the processing time depends on your payment method:

Please note: These timelines are estimates and may vary depending on your bank or payment provider. If you do not receive your refund within the estimated time, please contact your bank first, and then reach out to us.

6. Competition Cancellation by Talented

In the rare event that we cancel a competition after registrations have been accepted:

  • All registered participants will receive a full refund of their entry fee, automatically processed within 7 business days.
  • Participants will be notified via email and platform notifications at least 24 hours before the scheduled start time (or immediately if cancellation is due to an emergency).
  • Where possible, we will offer an alternative competition or a rescheduled date.

7. School Registration Fees

School registration fees follow a separate refund policy:

  • Within 7 days of registration: Full refund available if no students have been enrolled under the school account and no competitions have been accessed.
  • After 7 days or after use: School registration fees are non-refundable once the coordinator dashboard has been actively used, students have been enrolled, or competitions have been accessed.
  • Exceptional Circumstances: Refund requests due to exceptional circumstances (school closure, natural disaster, etc.) will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis. Please contact us with supporting documentation.

8. Payment Disputes

If you believe a charge was made in error or you did not authorise a transaction:

  • Contact us immediately at support@talented.in with your transaction details.
  • We will investigate the dispute in collaboration with Razorpay and provide a resolution within 7 business days.
  • If you file a chargeback through your bank before contacting us, it may delay the resolution process. We encourage you to reach out to us first.
